Bealtaine 2017

 

This May, Brewery Lane Theatre & Arts Centre will host three FREE events

as part of the nationwide Bealtaine Programme :

 

 

Tuesday 9th May 8:15pm  FILM - "Dare to be Wild" (2016)

 

A feature length film based on the true story of Mary Reynolds made by Irish director 

Vivienne de Courcey. This focuses on the magical story of Mary’s journey to build a gold

medal winning garden at the Chelsea flower show.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tuesday 23rd May 8pm  FILM - "Jailhouse Rock" (1958)

 

A young man, Vince Everett (Elvis Presley), is convicted of manslaughter after

being drawn into a bar fight while trying to defend a woman.  In prison, Everett

finds salvation when his cellmate, a country singer named Hunk Houghton 

(Mickey Shaughnessy), hears him sing and pegs him as a future star.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Thursday 25th May 8:15pm  SHOW - "Old Flames"

 

Old Flames blends the stories of writer Brian Leyden with music by the multi-instrumentalist
Seamie O’Dowd in a warm-hearted look at romance and courtship, house-dances, dowries

and matchmaking, school day love notes, radio memories, bereavement and retirement.

Old Flames will light up fond memories for many of you and maybe even rekindle a romantic
fire or two……
